Help young learners explore kindness, friendship, and making good choices with this simple hands-on activity inspired by Have You Filled a Bucket Today? by Carol McCloud.
After reading the book, parents can use the included discussion page to reinforce the idea of being a “bucket filler” vs. a “bucket dipper.” Then, children will look at different behaviors, decide which ones help fill someone’s bucket, and cut and glue the bucket-filling choices onto their own bucket.
This activity is perfect for TK–Kindergarten students and makes a fun addition to lessons about friendship, citizenship, kindness, and being part of a community.
What’s Included:
- Parent read-aloud/discussion page
- Bucket Filler cut-and-glue activity (blue background and no blue background versions included)
- Simple opportunities to practice identifying kind and unkind choices
Please note: Have You Filled a Bucket Today? by Carol McCloud is not included with this download. You’ll need to purchase the book, borrow it from your local library, or find a read-aloud online. This resource is an independently created companion activity and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the author or publisher.
