This fun, project-based learning activity is perfect for all ages learning about World War 2 (WWII) and Morse code which was used as a secret spy language by the Allies.

After students read a simple paragraph background about the Morse code, they are prompted to use the chart to create their very own Morse code beaded bracelet for any word they choose (examples- their name, city, or any other simple word). They will also write out their word in Morse code. An easy worksheet is included to guide them through the process.

Supplies needed:

  • string
  • colored beads- 2 colors, plan for approximately 15 beads total per student
  • crayons, markers, or colored pencils

This project is great for classroom use or homeschool. Simple enough for elementary-aged students but fun for all ages.
